Douglas Raaberg was appointed Chief Executive for United Arab Emirates in October 2013. In this role, Doug is responsible for leading the development of Northrop Grumman within the UAE, supporting the company’s current programs, developing strategies for growth, and identifying new business opportunities for the company in the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to his current appointment, Doug was Director, Global Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) campaign lead, for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (AS). He led a portfolio of challenging business pursuits to develop, sustain and modernize BMC2 products. He was also responsible for leading business development efforts for the sector’s Military Aircraft Systems Division Business Area to include B-2, E-2D, F/A-18, F-35 and Joint STARS aircraft.
Doug joined Northrop Grumman in March 2010 following a career in the U.S. Air Force, where he attained the rank of major general. He served as deputy combined force air component commander for U.S. Central Command responsible for all air and space operations in the Middle East and Central Asia. His other flag assignments included Director of Operations for Air Combat Command. Additionally, he has extensive experience in Middle East military affairs as the deputy director of operations in U.S. Central Command.
Doug has commanded the U.S. Air Force’s only B-2 stealth-bomber wing, a jet pilot-training wing, a bomber operations group and a bomber squadron. He was a command pilot with over 4,700 hours in fighter-bomber, bomber, and trainer aircraft. Among his awards and decorations are the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.
He is an Honor Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and holds master’s degrees from the University of Southern California and National War College. He is also a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and the National War College.
